Hussein Ibrahim, head of the committee supervising the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) chairmanship elections, declared Monday as the first of a 3-day nomination window for party chairman post. Ibrahim said that those who wish to run for the leadership position should head for the FJP's downtown Mansour Street headquarters to receive the nomination form and documents.
“The nomination window closes on Wednesday, October 10, with appeals and complaints, if any, accepted for three days after that.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Amr Darrag, Chairman of the FJP’s Foreign Relations Committee, said: “Any person in the FJP’s General Assembly is entitled to join the presidential election for FJP chair.
“However, each candidate must be nominated by 100 members of the FJP’s General Assembly. I am sure, of course, that the General Assembly has many powerful personalities that can fill this position.” |
