Nicolas Galey, French Ambassador to Cairo; and Dr. Mohamed Saad Katatni, Chairman of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), discussed the Palestinian cause. Katatni condemned the brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza, saying: "This is a totally unjustifiable, oppressive aggression. Israel has no problem whatsoever committing horrendous crimes, assaulting and murdering innocent Palestinian children and civilians.

"I am truly shocked at the resounding silence of the international community about the horrific massacres taking place in Gaza."

For his part, the French ambassador said there was no silence, but an attempt to use peaceful processes to end the conflict, pointing out that the French Foreign Minister traveled to Israel to meet with the Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority.

They further discussed the current events in Syria, where Katatni and the French ambassador agreed the Assad regime must go, so the Syrian people can freely choose their political leadership.

Meanwhile, the French ambassador stressed that 42 French investors would visit Egypt in the coming months, in order to bring investments, pointing that economic ties support political relations.
