Muslim Brotherhood Statement Calling for Thorough Investigations into Badrasheen Train Crash

Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood urges all state agencies to cooperate in extensive, expanded investigations to determine the cause of Monday’s Badrasheen train crash and to hold to account those responsible for it.

The Muslim Brotherhood offers its deepest heartfelt condolences to the families of all those killed and injured in the tragic Badrasheen train accident. The Brotherhood also extends its prayers, consolation and deepest condolences to all the Egyptian people.

With the recurrence of such fatal incidents on Egypt’s railway tracks, we appeal to all state agencies and authorities to cooperate, coordinate and urgently conduct extensive investigations to determine the cause of the accident and those responsible for it.

We also appeal to officials to prepare a clear, well-thought-out comprehensive action plan in order to prevent such incidents in the future. This should detail the necessary steps that will be taken to raise the efficiency, safety and security of everything – from human resources to safety features of this vital sector.

Finally, we pray to God to receive the victims with His vast mercy, grant their families patience and solace, grace the wounded with speedy recovery, and protect the land and the people of Egypt our homeland from harm.
