Hussein Ibrahim, Secretary-General of the Freedom and Justice Party, rejected as false rumors claiming that Egypt is embracing the Shiite doctrine, after a visit by groups of Iranian tourists.

"Egypt’s national security is a red line, with all its components, including faith, identity, community values and the Sunni doctrine.

"Our dealings with other countries are based on two main axes: maintaining Egypt’s national security and seeking mutual benefits. Needless to say, these include achieving the higher interests of our dear homeland, and boosting economic cooperation between Egypt and all nations."
