Dr. Mohamed Taha Wahdan, member of the Muslim Brotherhood Guidance Bureau and the group’s Education Department official, reaffirmed that the Egyptian people and their government will not allow a Shiite expansion in Egypt under any circumstances.

In a speech, at a forum in Sharqiya province, on current events, Wahdan added: "Egypt is regularly visited by Jews, Buddhists and even atheists. Is it conceivable that tourists in Egypt for a couple of days will spread their doctrine?

"Al-Azhar was established to spread the Shia doctrine; but it has become a beacon and bastion of Sunni Islam, and will always remain so, God willing."
