In a press statement, Dr. Murad Ali, the Freedom and Justice Party’s media spokesman, criticized calls by corporate media for acquittal of ousted President Hosni Mubarak, "To Hassanein Heikal, Emad Adeeb and all those who call for dismissal of Mubarak's trial because he is Egypt’s former President and should not be subjected to such trials, we say: 'We learned from Prophet Mohamed (peace be upon him) that, «Indeed, what destroyed the people before you was that when a person of high rank among them committed a theft, they spared him; but if the same crime was done by a poor person, they inflicted the prescribed punishment on him»'.

"No human on earth can waive martyrs’ rights, the rights of the Egyptian people whose wealth and resources were plundered by Mubarak and his cronies."

Dr. Ali continued: "Certainly, if any party or individual, even President Morsi himself, tries to stop Mubarak’s trial, we will stand up and strongly protest against them. The people will not be satisfied until justice is done. Everyone must realize that retribution is a red line.

"If the honorable judges cannot administer justice and hold these criminals responsible for the crimes they so publicly committed, they should recuse themselves rather than play any part in the farce of acquitting Mubarak and his criminal clique. Again, I repeat: Retribution against Mubarak and his cronies is a red line."
