General Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi, Commander in Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, Saturday addressed a message to the Egyptian people, in which he said: "The armed forces will not go down to police the streets. The armed forces are not a solution. Elections are the solution.

"There is ongoing extensive political action, in which all Egyptians should positively participate. I do not mean the military, but all Egyptian citizens."

Al-Sisi added that, "There are looming dangers in armies policing civilian streets, especially in a country with a population of more than 90 million. There are very serious risks. The basic tasks for the army are national security and state sovereignty."

In conclusion, Al-Sisi assured that the Egyptian military is in top shape. He called on the people of Egypt, with all its segments and factions, intellectuals, elite and all citizens, Muslims and Christians, to follow the example of the armed forces in facing challenges objectively, and work selflessly to help keep Egypt always among the world’s leading nations.
