In a statement, Dr. Ahmed Aref, Muslim Brotherhood spokesman, said that Dr. Alaa Abdel-Aziz, Egypt’s new Minister of Culture, must be at least given an opportunity to express his vision, especially as he has already revealed numerous irregularities and incidents of corruption within the Ministry.
Aref condemned the storming of the Minister’s office, pointing that some ‘intellectuals’ impose a monopoly over Egypt’s culture voice, and praised the independence of culture in Egypt as announced by the Minister of Culture, adding that it is a great step in the right direction.
Aref further pointed that cultural exclusion is totally unacceptable, and that Egypt is diverse, and that everyone must respect diversity and differences. |
