Dr. Mohamed Beltagy, a member of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP)’s Executive Bureau, said: "The repetition of violent attacks and clashes, the numbers of dead and wounded in Fayoum, Kafr El-Sheikh and Mahalla across Egypt are very serious developments that must stun us all, forcing us to pause and review the situation before it is too late.

"Are there no longer, among or around us all, fair-minded wise men who are not too proud or too vain to sit with their party-members, partners or even their opponents to suggest or accept solutions to avoid an ultimate clash?"

Dr. Beltagy added, "I think that the political elite in both camps and beyond, unless they sit together for dialogue and find solutions to prevent the disaster, should all just retire, because they would no longer be of any value to this homeland.

"I urge everyone to engage in a comprehensive national dialogue. Egypt is burning. There is no time for quarrel. "

"Of course, this invitation to dialogue will not appeal to the real enemies of the Revolution, who delight at these clashes, as they gear up to jump on the scene, take revenge and get rid of us all."

Earlier on Sunday, Karam Abdel-Ghani, a member of Al-Nour Party and the Salafist Call in Gharbiya Governorate died at Mahalla Al-Kubra General Hospital after Rebel campaign thugs shot him with a gun at pointblank, thus becoming the second martyr to pass away Sunday after Mohamed Shalakany died of gunshot wounds he received as he walked in a peaceful march a week earlier (June 16) – he, too, was shot by Rebel youths.
