Erian: Return of Legitimacy Only Start-point for Executable Road Map

FJP deputy chief Erian reaffirms complete rejection of coup-birthed, military-controlled political process, at the same time calling for even more massive peaceful protests, marches, rallies and sit-ins across Egypt.

On his Facebook page, Dr. Essam El-Erian, Freedom and Justice Party Vice-Chairman, stressed that the return of legitimacy – the President, the Constitution, the Shura Council (Upper House) and the Government – is essential to open the way for implementation of the only executable road map, the one put forward by President Mohamed Morsi.

"Egypt decides through the ballot-box, through protests, through mass rallies and peaceful sit-ins.

"No one person, one elite group or military organization will impose any decision on the people. Nor will any foreign power – regional, European or American – make decisions on behalf of the Egyptian people."

Dr. Erian further stressed that the people can engage in dialogues, live together in harmony, differ and agree freely, in society, in legislatures, and on satellite TV screens and other media platforms, pointing that the decision is taken in constitutional institutions and sometimes through popular referendum.
