The coup’s security forces in Egypt closed off the headquarters of the web-based and printed versions of the newspaper affiliated with the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) in Roudah Street, Cairo.

According to a statement by the journalists of the Freedom and Justice Newspaper (FJN), security forces stormed the headquarters and seized all furniture and equipment, removing them in police vans to an unknown location.

In their statement, FJN journalists assured that this barbaric operation will not stop the media struggle against the coup.

"We have suffered this kind of pressure, intimidation and confrontation at the hands of security outlaws more than once without any reaction from the journalists' union, headed by leftist writer Diaa Rashwan."

FJN journalists further demanded full protection, legally and professionally, to continue to operate freely and without pressure from any quarter, according to media codes of ethics and the laws of the union, demanding that they should be allowed to return to their workplace.
