The Egyptian Journalists Syndicate’s Freedoms Committee denounces the continuing persecution of journalists and media professionals opposed to the ruling authorities, the politicized decisions to detain dozens under false accusations, and widespread violations against them at detention locations.

The committee further condemns the authorities’ disregard for journalistic and media freedoms, and their persistent harassment of media professionals. The committee also affirms its complete rejection of these repressive practices, and underlines the necessity of their immediate cessation and the release without delay of journalists and media professionals opposed the coup.
