Dr. Amr Darrag, leading member of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), rejected U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry's latest remarks accusing Muslim Brotherhood of "stealing Egyptian Revolution", stressing that the military coup is the one that stole the January 25 Revolution and trampled popular will. Earlier, Wednesday evening, John Kerry spoke at the State Department in Washington to heads of American multinational corporations, and stated that the Muslim Brotherhood stole the revolution against Mubarak from young people who started it through Twitter and Facebook.
"The role of the Muslim Brotherhood in all stages of the Revolution is clear and well-documented, from January 25 (2011), through the so-called ‘Battle of the Camels’ and all the demonstrations and other activities in which millions of citizens demanded the military hand over power to civilians, to rejecting the military coup against the principles of the January 25 Revolution and the legitimacy established for civilians."
"We are confident that the will of the people shall ultimately triumph."
