FJP Congratulates All Egyptians on New Year; Urges Unity to Defeat Traitorous Coup

The Freedom and Justice Party in Alexandria – Egypt congratulates the Egyptian people on the New Year, urging them to close ranks and persevere to overthrow the murderous military coup.

In a statement Wednesday, the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) said: "The Party congratulates All Egyptians on the new year, hoping it will be a happy year for our homeland as well as the Arab and Muslim nation, with the overthrow of the heinous military coup, the reinstatement of democratically-elected state institutions, and the healing of the rift caused by coup commanders and collaborators in our dear Egypt using the infernal media machine that fueled the hatred among the citizens of this one homeland and turned difference of opinion into a major conflict between brothers, between husband and wife, and between father and son, dividing us into two fighting nations.

"We hope this nation will regain its unity and harmony, even if we disagree. We are the sons and daughters of one nation. We all have the interest of this country in our hearts."

In conclusion, the FJP statement exhorted the Egyptian people to close ranks, unite, be persistent and resilient, "so we can get beyond this difficult stage and overcome the internal and external conspiracies being plotted against our beloved Egypt, and so we achieve the progress, prosperity and great future we want for our country".
