Freedom and Justice Party: Military Rule Injustice, Repression Will Speed Junta Downfall

The FJP condemns Monday's mass death sentences, which – far from justice and due process – amount to a barely-disguised cold-blooded massacre of innocent critics of the military junta's regime.

The Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) denounces the new mass death sentences issued by the Criminal Court of Minya against 683 citizens perceived as coup critics. Those sentences are in fact a new crime of horrendous genocide committed by the military council and its candidate who has ruled Egypt since the coup, and dreams to rule over its people more formally soon.

The FJP has full confidence in the people of Egypt, who have been continuously holding peaceful Revolutionary protests over the past ten months, with their action reaching into every city, village and hamlet. The people will not allow the genocide farce to go on. Indeed, this coup will crumble quickly, and the Egyptian people will reclaim their freedom, self-determination and dignity.
