In a statement to Ikhwanweb, Dr. Mohamed Habib, the deputy chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood, said that the group decided today to boycott the referendum on the constitutional amendments scheduled to be held next Monday, March 26, 2007 .

In a statement to Ikhwanweb, Dr. Mohamed Habib, the deputy chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood, said that the group decided today to boycott the referendum on the constitutional amendments scheduled to be  held next Monday, March 26, 2007 .
 
Habib added that the group had several options but it preferred the boycotting option to be in line with other political powers which declared boycotting the referendum.
 
Habib demanded all Egyptian people to boycott the referendum and not to participate in this farce that will lead to more dictatorship, repression and tyranny in Egypt .
 
In a related context, the opposition MPs ( Muslim Brotherhood- independents - Karama) have declared their boycott to the referendum and called on all sections of the society do the same.
