10 Kafr Al-Sheikh MBs Detained

Kafr Al-Sheikh security forces arrested on Wednesday at dawn 10 supporters of Dr. Al Ghobashi Al-Atawi, the Muslim Brotherhood’s (MB) candidate for the constituency of Baltym, Al Hamul and Riyadh .
This sweep of arrests is a part of the Egyptian regime’s ongoing crackdown against supporters and leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood ahead of the Shura Council elections scheduled next June, 11th.

The detainees are:

From district of Al Hamul

1-Shohdi Abdul Nabi, a teacher
2- Sameh Al Sishtawa, a employee is in the City Council
3-Mohamed Saqr, a bride-to-be a week later

From Bella

4-Sabri Al-Mirghani, tax collector
5- Reda Ghali
6-Hamed Shishaa

From Baltym

7-Mansour Wafa, a teacher

From Riyadh
8-Rasoul Mahrous, a teacher

Child Diaa Ahmed Youssef (13 years old) was taken a hostage till his brother, Ali Youssef, whom they did not find at home during the sweep. The child was released later.

This raises to 22 the number of MB detainees from Kafr Al-Sheikh detainees during the last two days .
It is worth mentioning that there are ongoing sweeps of arrests against leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood in the constituencies in which the MB declared it fielded candidates to run the Shura Council elections. The total number of MB members and leaders detained during the past two days reached about 80.
