The Administrative Court issued a ruling overturning the authorities’ decision of refusing to receive the nomination papers of MB candidates in Monofiya to run for Shura Council midterm elections. The Administrative Court in Shibin Al Kawm issued on Tuesday, May, 22, 2007, a ruling of overturning the authorities’ decision of refusing to receive the nomination papers of Muslim Brotherhood (MB) candidates in Monofiya running for Shura Council midterm elections. The court ordered the competent authorities be notified of the ruling. The nominees are: 1- Hassan Saad Al Sawwaf 2-Mohamed Salah Samri 3-Abdul Maqsood Al-Imam 4- Khafagi Basyouni Khafag 5-Fekri Antar Qoura 6-Abdelhamid Escheikh It is worth mentioning that this ruling is issued after many lawsuits have been filed by lawyers of Muslim Brotherhood and independent candidates who were prevented from fielding their nomination papers on time. The security forces ringed the committees receiving the papers and used bullies to intimidate and use violence against the opposition nominees who insist on fielding their papers.
