A religious preacher, affiliated to the state-controlled Gam"iya Shariya society, Egyptian government societies, died inside State Security Investigations (SSI) premises in Almaza, 10 days after his detention.  The dead preached, Khaled Said Badran, 42 years from Zeitoun district obtained MA in the field of Hadiths from the Faculty of Dar Al-Ulum. He was detained last Feb, 2nd, 2008 and was held in the State Security Police headquarters and died on Feb, 12th.

He worked as a preacher in the mosques of Al-Gam"iya Al-Shar"iya in the Cairo neighbourhood of Abbasiya. He was also preparing for obtaining a PhD. After his detention, the State Security Police sent to his family to bring him food. When his relatives came to visit him, an officer informed them that Badran is mad and tries to commit suicide .Two days later, his family was called to receive his dead body from Zeinhom morgue.

Dr. Abdel Moneim Abul Fotouh, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood Executive Officce, told Ikhwanweb what happened is a kind of madness that hit Egyptian police services. This is because the police"s sole jobe in the country is only to protect regime and the unjust ruler. This makes the police services justify any action even if it reaches committing human rights violations and killing people.
