The judges annual "Iftar" came with a number of surprises when distinguished figures were notably absent from the invitation list. Chancellor Zakareya Abdul Aziz abstained from commenting on the behavior of Chancellor Ahmed Elzend who had sent out the invitations. In a statement to Ikhwanweb, he confirmed that he wasn't the only one not invited to the annual "Iftar," adding that Chancellor Ahmed Mekki, Vice-President of the Court of Cessation also didn't receive an invitation. Elzend was expected to meet with journalists in a press conference after the dinner to discuss issues concerning the judiciary's activities during the latest period. The crisis of selling lands in Port Said, which the independent judiciary refused to sell, was also expected to be on the topics agenda. It is anticipated that a General Assembly will be held to discuss current problems within the guild.
