No sooner had the crisis of Counselor Adel Abdel Salam Gomaa, head of the Supreme State Security Court, with MB defense concerning the Egypt and Hezbollah terror case calmed down, they clashed again. This time with the "Muslim Brotherhood" where the group’s lawyers made a request intended not to comply with the judge.

The lawyers asked them to consider postponing the appeal of three Brotherhood members from Cairo, who had been detained by state security services in the same case as Sayed Nazeely, Head of the MB administrative office in Giza. The detainees filing for appeal include:

The defense claimed that the circuit has already expressed its opinion on the Brotherhood cases several times refusing to decide on these thorny issues. However, the court insists on contemplating the appeal and nullifying the appeal. Moreover Gomaa's circuit was not competent to hear the appeal.

Abdel-Moneim Abdel-Maksoud, the Muslim Brotherhood's lawyer, said "We are determined to prove that Chancellor Adel Abdel Salam Gomaa’s circuit  lacks  jurisdiction and we demand the referral of the cases to another Circuit especially Gomaa's Court Circuit which is expected to  examine 13 appeals submitted by the Muslim Brotherhood. Furthermore this raises the question on the insistence of Chancellor Intisar Naseem, President of the Cairo Court of Appeal, to assign Muslim Brotherhood’s cases to a certain court circuit. "

 The Supreme State Security Court yesterday decided that the last defendant left Dr. Osama Al-Suleiman remain in custody for a further fifteen days under investigations of the case of the alleged international network of the Muslim Brotherhood. This order took place two days after the Supreme State Security Court, headed by Counselor Adel `Abdel Salam Gomaa, overruled an appeal against a decision by the Interior Ministry on the arrest since June.

It is worth mentioning that all the detainees in the case of the alleged international network of the Muslim Brotherhood which include 32 leading Brotherhood leaders, led by Dr. Abdel Moneim Abul Fotouh and Dr. Osama Nasr, a member of the MB Guidance Bureau have all been released while Dr. Osama Al-Suleiman continues to remain in custody pending hearing on the renowned case that caused commotion last summer.
