South African deputy foreign minister arrives in Gaza

Ibrahim Ibrahim, the deputy foreign minister of South Africa, has arrived in Gaza Strip on Saturday via the Rafah crossing at the head of a seven-member delegation. He was received on arrival by Dr. Ahmed Yousef, the foreign undersecretary, along with other officials and two diplomats from the South African embassy in Gaza. He addressed a press conference at the Rafah border terminal on arrival. Palestinian premier Ismail Haneyya and first deputy speaker of the Palestinian legislative council Dr. Ahmed Bahar received a visiting parliamentary delegation from South Africa last Monday. |
