The groups described him as a war criminal who needed to be tried for his war crimes against Gaza .

The Israeli Prime Minister is expected to visit Egypt later this week, to meet with Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak. A legal memorandum was filed by the opposition which referred to Goldstone's fact–finding report which recorded the crimes committed during the 3 week Israeli offensive against the Gazans in December 2008. During the attack a total of 1,300 Palestinians were killed.

Mohamed Elbeltagy MB MP maintained that the report against Netanyahu was a message highlighting the opposition's stance against the Israeli PM's visit. "The negotiations and indirect talks on Palestinian-Israeli peace are simply not acceptable and any efforts to resume discussion are rejected".

Egypt and Israel 's relations remains a thorny issue and the normalization of dealings are still largely rebuffed by many Egyptians who feel for the Palestinians describing their predicament and constant suffering as their own.
