The Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) released a statement clarifying the relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood, emphasizing that the party is an independent organization that shares the same background as the Brotherhood, however, the party participates in the politics and can compete for power. The statement added that the MB represents the main social base for the party, and its primary supporter, therefore, there is coordination between the party and the Brotherhood concerning all the social and political activities. The party will also be coordinating with the MB during elections since the MB supporters represent a voting block for the FJP candidates, but without challenging party’s independence, the statement concluded.
