Parliamentarians from various countries began their conference in Damascus, Syria, on Saturday to discuss ways and means of supporting Lebanese and Palestinian resistance in face of Israeli aggressions.

The annual event used to be held in Beirut but due to the Israeli onslaught on Lebanon the participants decided to hold their meeting this year in Damascus.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian parliament speaker Dr. Fathi Surrour has asked the president of the European Parliament, Josep Borrell, to call for a resolution condemning the Israeli war crimes against the Lebanese and Palestinian people.

Surrour said that the European parliament should adopt decisive stands against Israeli "violations and terrorism" represented in kidnapping the PA cabinet ministers and lawmakers the latest of whom was the PLC speaker, Dr. Aziz Duwaik.
