A message from the Chairman of the Musim Brotherhood (MB), Mr. Mohamed Mahdi Akef:

At a time, when the world acknowledged the integrity and transparency of the Palestinian legislative elections and the high political awareness and the unprecedented democracy the Palestinians revealed and enjoyed, the West has exposed itself and its double standards. The Western governments rejected the outcome of those elections and denied the Palestinian people aid to punish them for their democratic choice and to force Hamas to give up resistance, recognize the Zionist state and endorse all agreements previously imposed on the Palestinian Authority.

It is no secret that Palestinians have been suffering from brutal massacres, assassinations, detention of thousands, land excavation and demolition of houses let alone land occupation and desecration of sanctuaries. The negotiating table has yielded nothing but more concessions and waste of the rights of the Palestinian people.

The Palestinian people today are suffering from the siege of starvation and death with the new government facing fierce challenges both at home and abroad. The government inherited a heavy legacy filled with troubles and pains. This necessitates a firm stance backing the Palestinian people in their ordeal as being the frontline against the US-Zionist plot. They are not only defending their homeland and sanctuaries but the nation’s honour and dignity as well.

Arab and Islamic governments and regimes should do their mission and shoulder their responsibility toward the Palestinian people and not to bow to American pressure and blackmail, as a contradiction with independent will and an aggression on peoples’ rights.

We call on all citizens keen on their homeland and nation, and urge Arab, Muslim and free justice-loving nations to back Palestinian people at this crucial historic juncture and extend a helping hand to them.

My fellow citizens; with the little of money, we can reinforce the steadfastness of Palestinian people, rescue their homeland and free the nation’s will. The Arab League fund (set up for this purpose) and humanitarian aid bodies at the Doctors’ Syndicate and Arab Doctors Federation, which support Palestinian people, are suitable pools for collecting aid due.
