Dr. Essam el-Erian, prominent leader of the MB in Egypt, denied speculations the Muslim Brotherhood is forming a political party saying that the Egyptian government through the notorious Political Parties Committee and the Parties Court will never license a party for the Muslim Brotherhood “The current atmosphere in Egypt makes it impossible for the Muslim Brotherhood to have its own political party” el-Erian stated.

A member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Executive Bureau says they seek a civil  party in accordance with the second article of the Egyptian Constitution.

Egyptian authorities moved the Muslim Brotherhood detainees inlcuding Khayrat Al Shater, the group’s second deputy chairman, from Cairo’s Mahkoum prison to Torah farm prison which is designated for political detainees.

Egyptian government continued its unabated crackdown against members of the Muslim Brotherhood by arresting 7 more today in Behira province bringing the total number of detainees to 234 since the begining of a nationwide campaign against the group two months ago.
